Team History

Oracle Red Bull Racing joined the Formula One™ world in 2005. They replaced Jaguar Racing after Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of the energy drink Red Bull, bought the team in 2004. In 2005 during the team’s debut, they managed to get into 7th in the Constructors’ Championship, with 34 points. In 2006 Red Bull Racing scored their first podium after driver David Coulthard got 3rd place in the Monaco Grand Prix. In the years, after 2009, Red Bull Racing has made big changes and improved. In 2009 they got their first victory thanks to driver, Sebastian Vettel, and in that year, came second in the Constructors’ Championship. Ever since they have won the Constructors’ Championship 2010-2013, and 2022-2023. Currently, the team has 368 races entered, 112 race victories, 263 podiums, 6 Constructors’ Championships, and 7 Driver’s Championships.

Team Ownership

Currently, the owner of Red Bull is the Yoovidhya family, after the passing of Dietrich Mateschitz, the founder of Red Bull. Then we have Team Principal and CEO, Christian Horner, who has been with the team as Team Principal and Chief Executive Officer since the beginning, in 2005, having been the youngest Team Principal ever.

Team Name and Identity

The team’s name, Oracle Red Bull Racing, comes from Oracle, which is a database management system. Red Bull is an energy drink brand, and the founder of the drink also founded the team, keeping the brand name. The logo for the team is two bulls fighting, in front of a golden-yellow circle. The logo references energy, stamina, and action. The team colors consist of red, yellow, grey, and blue.

Technical Partnerships

Red Bull Racing has partnered with Cosworth, Ferrari, Renault, and Honda for their power units through the years. Honda is their current partner, and having left at the end of 2021, they still provide power units to Red Bull until the end of 2025, but when that contract is done Red Bull Racing will have a partnership with Ford starting in 2026.

Driver Lineup

The first drivers for the Red Bull Racing team were David Coulthard and Christian Klien, and Vitantonio Liuzzi. Through the years they also brought to the team Robert Doornbos, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil Kvyat, Pierre Gasly, and Alexander Albon. Currently, their driver lineup includes World Champion, Max Verstappen, and Sergio Perez.

Team Achievements

Red Bull Racing has 6 constructors Championships under their belt, from 2010 - 2013, and 2022 - 2023. Red Bull Racing, from this season (2023) alone hold multiple records including the most consecutive wins (15), most victories from the beginning of the season (12), the best start to a season (their 1-2 in Bahrain), and more. Most of their records, including previous records, have been broken by their driver, Max Verstappen.

Team Culture and Values

The team values resilience and determination, always coming back from a setback, and doing better. They aim to be the most ambitious and innovative team. Technical Innovations

Red Bull Advanced Technologies focuses on aerodynamics, mechanical, composite, and electrical design, structural analysis, simulation, modeling, control systems, software development, and manufacturing.
