Basic Information
Oscar Piastri, Australian Formula One™ racing driver, 2023 rookie. 22 years old, born April 6, 2001, in Melbourne, Australia.
Early Life and Background
Born to Chris and Nicole Piastri. Chris Piastri is one of the owners of HP Tuners, an automotive software development company. His mother (Nicole) also had a love for driving.
When Oscar was younger, he would watch Formula One™ but would have to wait until school got out on Mondays, due to races being held at 1 or 2 am on Mondays in Australia. His growing up with a racing family and watching Formula One™, significantly impacted his career.
Career Beginnings
Just like other drivers, he began his career by competing in karting, beginning in 2011 at 10 years old. Debut Season

Mid-season, things started to thrive for our rookie driver after McLaren got some much-needed upgrades. Oscar Piastri went on to earn 12 point-paying finishes, finishing the season with 97 points.
During his rookie season he got his first Formula One™ win in the Qatar Sprint Race, finishing ahead of World Champion, Max Verstappen, and Teammate, Lando Norris.
